Sanded Floors

Finishing floors sanded down to bare wood.

Here's how to do it. Vacuum the sanded floor thoroughly. Finish the floor the first time with Bona Prime or Seal. Allow the finish to dry completely which takes about 1 - 2 hours. Now lightly sand the floor so that all wood protrusions are removed in order to provide a flat and even surface. Use a polishing machine and sanding screen, grit 150, or sand by hand. Sand until the surface is matt. Vacuum the floor, clean with water, and dry. Once the floor is completely clean, finish it two more times with the chosen topcoat. 1 litre should be sufficient for 8 - 10 m2.

• Bona Prime or Seal
• Bona Spectra, Mega or Traffic
• Water-based finish roller
• Extension handle for the roller
• Small brush
• Tray for the finish
• Sandpaper or sanding screen

When can I furnish?

The day after the final layer of finish is applied, you can move the furniture back in. Wait at least a week before laying mats and rugs.
