Careful preparation comes before treatmentRegardless of which alternative you choose, your floors must be prepared before you can treat their surface. All old finish or oil must be sanded away and floors sanded so that they provide a flat and even surface. Before you start sanding, however, we recommend that you read our instructions carefully. They provide you with good advice as to how to work and also show you the various surface treatment alternatives available. Time to get startedFirst check to ensure that there are no loose boards or damaged surfaces on the parquet floor. If any part of the floor appears loose, knock on it with a coin. If it sounds hollow, the board is loose and must be glued down. This is most easily done with hot wood glue. If you are going to sand floorboards, you must ensure that there are no nails sticking up. If there are, hammer them down well so that they do not damage the sandpaper. Also remove the skirting boards in order to get access to the whole floor. How to Sand Wooden Floors |
